MHD Werkzeugmaschinen – About us

MHD Werkzeugmaschinen develops, designs and manufactures gear cutting machines. Founded by Dietmar Drechsel, a graduate engineer, in 1990, the company has over 30 years of experience in this sector and offers customised applications for gear manufacturers in a wide range of industries.

MHD Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH is based in Neukirchen-Adorf, Saxony, in the vicinity of the city of Chemnitz. Saxony is considered the cradle of German mechanical engineering, particularly in view of the fact that the hobbing process was developed and patented by Robert Hermann Pfauter at the end of the 19th century in Chemnitz.

Customer-oriented solutions for gearwheel manufacturers

are developed by our highly specialised team
in inhouse engineering and design departments. We can adapt flexibly to a wide variety of tasks and, in addition to machines for soft and hard machining of cylindrical gears, we also provide the required tools, chucking equipment and automation solutions. Our gear cutting machines are produced to meet future requirements in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. We therefore only use energy efficient motors and units, control auxiliary power units according to demand and contribute in this way to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Sustainability and conservation of resources

we put into practice – MHD Werkzeugmaschinen offers favourable working conditions at the company site. We attach great importance to ergonomics and an optimum working environment. Short decision-making processes and flat hierarchies enable us to adapt internal production processes to suit requirements within a short period of time. Our production equipment meets premium standards and is subject to periodic maintenance and inspections at regular intervals. When choosing our suppliers, it is important to us to select suppliers with the shortest possible supply chains.

Gear cutting machines from MHD Werkzeugmaschinen are used worldwide in the commercial vehicle construction and agricultural machinery industries, by manufacturers of wind power gearboxes and conveying technology, as well as in general gearbox manufacturing.
